Gradescope

Gradescope enables electronic submission and marking of a range of different assessment types. It is delivered by Turnitin so can be integrated with Minerva modules and is available to all staff and students.

Gradescope enables electronic creation, delivery, submission and marking of a number of summative and formative assessment types:

  • handwritten responses
  • typed responses
  • STEM formulae and diagrams
  • programming/code
  • multiple choice

It is also useful for paper-based assignments especially those that require students to supply answers that cannot be directly entered into a computer or device.

Staff can create a Gradescope Course for each of their modules through Minerva. The class roster will need to be added to Gradescope and then marks can be uploaded to the Minerva Grade Centre.

Integrating Gradescope with Minerva

Before setting up a Gradescope assessment, you have to create a link to Gradescope in Minerva. You need this link to access Gradescope.

Gradescope assignments must be set up by going through Minerva, by a staff member with Instructor access. Do not attempt to set up a Gradescope account or assignment by going directly to Gradescope’s website.

Instructions on how to access Gradescope through Minerva and integrate with modules is provided in the guidance below.
